we have several servers at a colo facility, and it is located in Los Angeles, but I have a question, what happens if we need to load a RPM on those systems (example in this case would be webalizer, which is on the SuSE 8.0 CD's), now since the machines are there, and we are else where, how does one accomplish this feat?
Two realistic options...
* If you know that you have all dependencies fulfilled, you could scp the rpms onto the machines and install. * If you're not sure about the dep's, and you'd like to let YaST sort it out for you, set it up to use a SuSE FTP mirror as it's installation source then install what you need, and let YaST sort out the dep's.

Does the second option really work? I've never been able to set up YaST to use anything other than CD or DVD for installation. Directly clicking on an rpm gives you the option to install that rpm but then if you have a set of rpm's (say, xine, for example) that's not viable, especially if you don't know the dependencies. rpm from the commandline works for installing en mass, but I'd really like to see YaST functionality improve (that is, at least be able to do what is seems it says it can do). Hey, but maybe it's me. Maybe I'm just doing something wrong. Eddie
