Is there not a better way. Something on the screen to show?
And then, if there is no connection the fax send is repeating
several times. Any chance to have that visible. It makes me
nervous if I hear/ see the light of the telephone switch
lightning up although I did not do anything to start that, At
least not right before redialing ;-).

What and how do you let it run in the background?

Using KDE I suppose that leaves me Ksendfax. Where can it be
found and how is it initiated?
