Hi, don't get me wrong, I am seriously wondering, not offending, why do you people upgrade your SuSE version? Many of you seem to have done this, so you can probably tell me. I've been using SuSE 7.2 ever since it came out and it has done pretty well. Also, with every new release I wonder if I should upgrade, but the only thing I can see from the site is that installing has become even easier and new versions of free software has been included. Easy installation should not be a reason to upgrade, I thought and the latest versions of software are always available from their own websites. The packages I care for to have the latest version of are LyX and WindowMaker, for the rest I can live with what is already there. Of course, the info SuSE provides on her site about new versions is for new users, so I thought, perhaps you can tell me, what would be a good reason for existing users to upgrade. What were the reasons for you? They might apply to me as well. So far, the only thing I can think of is the newer version of XFree86, which also supports the 3d capabilities of my video card, an ATI Rage 128 pro so that I can run the very cool packages like flightgear and racer. Again, don't get me wrong. Thanks, Vinay
