I am unable to get any php files to show up in my web browser.
I am running Apache 1.3.20 (from original 7.3 CD), and I've installed the various php4 rpms from the original SuSE 7.3 CDs (phplib, mod_php4, mod_php4-core and mod_php4-servlet). There are no obvious errors in /var/log/httpd/error_log - indeed the only reference to "php" is as follows:
---------------------------------- [Sat Oct 26 16:06:26 2002] [notice] Apache/1.3.20 (Linux/SuSE) mod_throttle/3.1.2 mod_python/2.7.5 Python/2.1.1 PHP/4.0.6 mod_perl/1.26 mod_layout/3.0 mod_gzip/1.3.19.1a mod_fastcgi/2.2.2 mod_dtcl configured -- resuming normal operations ----------------------------------
All that shows up when I try hitting http://localhost is the default dancing penguin page from /usr/local/httpd/htdoc. When I place any php files in that path, they just show up as code (they are, indeed, valid php files).
Are there any known issues along this line - since nothing like this is mentioned in the SuSE Knowledge base?
