I installed DB2 and WebSphere on a SuSE 7.2
machine(kernel 2.4.4, ext2
file system) and run some application on it. The
application query the
DB2 through JDBC. In one case, the target result set
has about 10000
record(20 columns per row), and sort by 3 columns
which are
indexed. In this case, there are 8 clients accessed
the server
concurrently. After running about 15 minutes, system
enter an abnormal
status:
hardisk read/write continualy and the clients receive
no response. I
monitor in the "top" command and see the "bdflush"
process are running
and occuring most CPU. It should be that occured all
the I/O. The
bdflush runned for about 15 minutes and then release
the resource, the
system recovered.
How can I resolve this problem?
Thank you.
Jason
