Netscape Problem with JavaScript

      Suse 8.1 Personal    Netscape 4.8

In preferences, if I enable JavaScript, when Netscape starts to download
a page it will close Netscape. With JavaScript NOT enabled, everything
works fine.

I have Java enabled and no problems with it.

Any ideas why JavaScript is causing this problem?
