I have the following entry in the fstab for the drive:
/dev/sda1 /media/firewire vfat noauto,user 0 0
The desktop link also shows this. It is also fat32 so I used vfat for the
file type.
Is the fstab line correct?

I presume that after you have loaded the necessary
drivers with modprobe... you execute something like
mount -t reiserfs /dev/sda /media/firewire?..If you
are talking about having created a link to the
desktop for easy access then you have to edit
/etc/fstab , put in your drive and mount point and
then choose the appropriate option in the properties
dialogue of the shortcut you have. If you have created
a shortcut to device then the new (right) options
you have added to /etc/fstab will show up and you can
choose them.
Hope this is clear enough if not, please ask me to
clarify more.

Josef
