I routinely use YOU on SuSE 8.0 to do this. From inside of our firewall on my laptop, I have received failures on ftp.suse.com. I would suggest that if you get repeated failures, try another site. There is a list of sites in /etc. I don't have my laptop with me today to give you all the parms. On 23 Oct 2002 at 17:19, harry302 wrote:

I would greatly appreciate any input from those that had the same problems as I do.
Thanks

===== My system was trashed after a YOU update (Fortunately my important files were backed up). I reinstalled suse 8.0 (fresh install) but now every time I try using YOU a little screen appears saying trying to connect to ftp://suse.com (or something like that) then it disapears and takes me back to YAST control center. I cannot even get YOU up to change download sites. I know that there were a quite a few posts with problems with YAST a few weeks back.
I would greatly appreciate a solution to this problem. I have no desire to reinstall this system again.
Thanks in advance
