Hello list! I have today received my Apacer Handy Drive USB unit (256MB usb storage device). Under XP it was found and correctly mounted. So to Linux; my Suse 7.3 pro recognized it (KDE control panel; "Manufacturer: Apacer Serial #: 19241706001D" How (and where) do I create a mountpoint for this device; that is what I need to to right? (I have "googled" a little but the amount o info was to great and somwhat confusing; Is this a mass storage device?) Should I regard it as a Vfat file system? Is it a Vfat? In /etc/fstab I now has this: /dev/hda6 / reiserfs defaults 1 1 /dev/cdrom /media/cdrom auto ro,noauto, user, exec 0 0 /dev/dvd /media/dvd auto ro,noauto, user, exec 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0 /dev/fd0 /media/floppy auto noauto, user, sync 0 0 proc /proc proc defaults 0 0 usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs defaults, noauto 0 0 # "This does not exist; is it what i should create? i.e mkd /usbdvfs; and then?" /dev/hda1 /windows/C vfat noauto, user 0 0 /dev/hdb1 /win/d vfat defaults 0 0 /dev/hdb5 /win/e vfat defaults 0 0 /dev/sda4 /zipdisk vfat noauto,rw,user,nosuid,sync,mode=0777 /dev/hda5 swap swap defaults 0 0 mtab; /dev/hda6 / reiserfs rw 0 0 proc /proc proc rw 0 0 devpts /dev/pts devpts rw,mode=0620,gid=5 0 0 usbdevfs /proc/bus/usb usbdevfs rw 0 0 Regards Lars Forseth
