SuSE 8.1 -- multimedia

With SuSE 8.1 packages (aviplay, mplayer, etc)
i could play neither of my DivX movies.
aviplay only produces sound, and Mplayer just crashes.
all the necessary win32 codecs are in place.
am i the only one with the same result?
