I have the Lexmark E210, with suse 8.0. As you described in your previous post, I use the samsung ml-4500 drivers (ghostscript samsunggdi). It does work perfectly. The drivers that come with the lexmark cd included with the printer also work, but are quite 'messy', since they depend on an older version of ghostscript than the one in suse 8.0 or even suse 7.3. There are actually instructions on how to install them in suse (you have to uninstall your current ghostscript + a couple of related rps, force the installation of theirs, create a few sym links, and some other nasty things) in the cd. Are you using CUPS? I think I tried it and couldn't make the printer work with it. Good luck! On Monday 23 September 2002 21:48, Bryan Tyson wrote:
I finally received a reply from Lexmark about the E210 Laser Printer:
The E210 printer is certified to work with Windows and with RedHat Linux 7.0 and 7.1 ONLY.
