SuSE 8.0 - installing new software via FTP with YaST2

I installed SuSE 8.0 yesterday on a box via FTP, from an FTP server that I
have setup.
After updating using the Online Update in Yast2, I cannot access my FTP
server or the SuSE FTP mirrors using YaST2's "Install/Remove Software", to
install other packages that were missed during the initial installation. I
can access my FTP server via ftp client from the same computer but not with
YaST2.
I can change the media source to my FTP server or to a SuSE FTP site and it
will display the package selections and I can choose to install any of the
available packages, but when the computer tries to retrieve the packages the
error "file not found on server or connection refused" appears with the
correct FTP address and location of files. I can log into my FTP server
anonymously with an FTP client without a problem and retrieve these same
files and
install them via RPM, but this is a hassle.
This seems like a simple issue, so I hope someone else may have had this
problem and may have a resolution. Thanks.
