SuSE 8.0

I run the online update from Yast today. One of the patches was
sendmail-575. After I installed this patch I encountered two
problems:

- Files in the queue are prefixed with "Qf" instead of "qf", and
mailq says the queue is empty, even if it isn't. (And since
mailq is a symlink to sendmail, I guess sendmail can't handle
the messages at all?

- I was not able to send any messages. I always got an error,
stating that the recipient was not allowed. (These errors were
hidden in those "Qf" files, so it's just a coincidence I
noticed this quickly that my messages were still in the
queue.)

To fix the problem, I uninstalled sendmail, and then installed
the old version again from the discs.

The patch information says:

Update to sendmail-8.12.3 including bugfixes. Correction of
SMTP AUTH db generation of SuSEconfig.

So, what exactly is it this bug fix is supposed to fix? And do I
need it?
