Anybody know if SUSE 8.1 will support devfs? It looks like a number of
Thanks for the info. I doubt that I will attempt to switch to devfs; the reason that I asked was because I recently started playing with UML (User mode Linux) and they specifically mentioned SuSE with having problems with devfs. Speaking of Mandrake.... Any chance of seeing supermount in SuSE? I personally don't mind mounting/unmounting stuff, but my sister (a non-techie) also uses SuSE, and it drives her crazzy. other major distros already have this.
Not by default but you can of course add it (and deal with all of the broken drivers). I don't know of any distribution except Mandrake that had devfs-enabled releases but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong. From what I've heard the current devfs implementation is being dropped anyway. -- -ckm -- Check the headers for your unsubscription address For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the archives at http://lists.suse.com Please read the FAQs: suse-linux-e-faq@suse.com
