I have a SuSE 8.0 box that runs KDE. We have an application on another box (running SLES7) that does not have a local X system but needs a graphical interface.
The DISPLAY variable on the SLES7 box is set to IPAddressOfTheKDEbox:0 but when the application is run it does not get a connection. On the SLES7 box there is a message that the connection is refused. (also tried as :1 and
:2) This works ok with XWindows on a Windows box.
Can anyone point me to the right documentation for a resolution? Seems that it has something to do with display numbers but can't find the correct combinatino. Any help is appreciated.
Have you given permission for connections from the SLES7 box? On the KDE box, run "xhost +inet:IP_Of_SLES7_box" and then try running your app again. //Anders
