I recently upgraded ALSA on my home machine to 0.9 using the RPM's for 7.3. alsa.rpm, alsa-docs.rpm and alsa-devel.rpm all work no matter what kernel you have. If you've updated your kernel with the RPM's off SuSE's FTP server to 2.4.16, be sure to grab alsa-driver-2.4.16.rpm and not the alsa-driver.rpm, which was compiled against 2.4.10 (the kernel from the CD). Seems to work great and fixed some sound issues I was having with xine. If you compiled your own kernel, you may be out of luck there. Also note if you were trying to compile ALSA to remove a file out of the source tree. It's noted on their home page. I didn't notice this until yesterday and I already had the RPM's installed, which was much easier to deal with anyway. - Greg On Mon, 2002-09-09 at 06:05, Berge, Harry ten wrote:
It comes with 0.5, and I want to upgrade to 0.9.

Hi,
Does anybody know if there is a rpm for alsa 0.9 for SuSE 7.3? Building Alsa from source gives some trouble....
It's in ftp site, under /people/tiwai.
Btw, is suse 7.3 come with alsa 0.9 or 0.5 (I don't use 7.3, still use 7.2)?
