Yesterday I wrote inquiring how it might be that I could change the appearance of the environment in which SuSE loads. I've not had a reply and had begun to think that perhaps I'd inadvertently signed on to the Arch Linux, or some other such, mailing list and not SuSE's.
Hey, I hardly ever get replies when I ask questions
Anyway, at the moment, I witness the loading items scroll by in a small box within the default SuSE, green background. With my previous version of SuSE, after the initial SuSE splash screen would time down, the items loading would scroll white on a plain black background until the X-Window was reached. I'd like to return to that style. How might that change be accomplished? What adjustments would need to be made?
In 8.0, all you'd have to do is edit /etc/sysconfig/sysctl and change the BOOT_SPLASH variable from "yes" to "no" //Anders
