Well, my system does. Recently completed the apt-get marathon, and I have a few problems/questions. 1) i noticed in synaptic that there was a choice to keep rpm's in cache. is this memory cache, or are they on my system somewhere? Anyone know where? I ask becuase i'm going to make room on my windows disk, so I can keep then in case of catastrophe. 2) Gnome2 no longer shows up in the session choice on the login screen. I su to root and tried through kcontrol > system > login but that has lost it's power. i only have kde, gnome and gnome2 in that list but every other choice is in the real menu. When i ran SUSEconfig, i noticed a gnome error, ... Executing /sbin/conf.d/SuSEconfig.susewm... SuSEwm: ERROR: gnome: no "name" defined ! How can I fix this or add gnome2 to the choices? I'm not sure these are related but gnome2 showed up for a little while then I got something and it no longer does. Tried uninstalling susewm, but that didn't fix it, although the error went away. It may be the upgrade kdm, or kwm, just a hypothesis. I know someone posted with this a few eeks ago, but i couldn't find it when I scoured the archives. 3) Finally, being a former dead head, i use synaesthesia for my music but I noticed that when I run it from the command like i get ... synaesthesia: Possible error reading from soundcard (reason for error: File descriptor in bad state) over and over. music is fine, just wondering if this is fixable or it's related to the sound module error, that I think I've fixed thanks to the archives. Thanks in advance Franklin
