I want to know which filesystem best suits certain applications.
I have searched the net and found some interesting articles on journalling
filesystems such as ext3, reiserfs, xfs and jfs.
I notice that by default SuSE install creates reiserfs volumes for root
filesystems. Why did SuSE make this choice over ext3?

The applications I have in mind are:
- general purpose fileserver with up to 500GB disk space
- mySQL database with large tables (up to 2GB), not too bothered about
insert/update speeds but want the fastest reads possible.
I am running dual Xeon (2.2GHz) servers with 2GB RAM and hardware RAID5
volumes.
I'm edging towards using XFS, especially since reading Keith Waters
