Recently there have been lots of talks about WinModems for Linux onthe list. Many of the WinModems use Conexant chisets (f.k.a. Rockwell), recently linux drivers (betas) for them became available at :

Good luck, i believe that success stories would welcomed here.
I stumbled across Marc some time ago, when he put up the very first beta driver for the Conexant/Rockwell HCF modems. The list showed my modem on it so I was overjoyed! But the joy was shortlived 'cause the driver did not want to recognise my modem :-(. I fiddled with the driver specs but to no avail. So, I wrote to Marc and- he very nicely put in the "fix" for my particular modem. Nice. I have another, external modem, for which I paid a lot of money, but it doesn't want to behave. My el-cheapo internal modem with the Rockwell chipset just flies along, so I am very happy that Marc wrote the drivers. The icing on cake came yesterday when Marc released the drivers which now provide voice support which I will now be able to use. Marc, SuSE, a new monitor (bought a new one yesterday), and a TV/FM card - what else does a body need, eh? :-) Cheers. -- In a period of great joy and pleasure you are comforted by the thought that tragedy is just around the corner.
