I'm attempting to get my internal wireless card in my IBM Thinkpad R30 working correctly. The card was dectected by YaST and comes up as "Harris Semiconductor". YaST configures the card as eth1. If, however, I try to "ifconfig eth1 up", I get the following error message: eth1: unknown interface: No such device Admittidely, I'm a newbie but I've been poking around for a few days now on the Net trying to figure it out. Here's the ls output of /etc/sysconfig/network: . config ifcfg-eth0 ifcfg-lo providers wireless .. dhcp ifcfg-eth1 ifcfg.template scripts And here is the contents of ifcfg-eth1: BOOTPROTO="dhcp" STARTMODE="onboot" UNIQUE="lgGW.CA1y3f8FAiF" Right now, I'm not even worried about finding my wireless network... it seems like the system isn't even recognizing my card. Can anyone help me? If you need more information, just let me know. I'm trying to make the switch from Windows, but I've got to have wireless to do so.
