First guess for the problem.... you are not using the right driver for your
PCMCIA ethernet card.

A little Google search turned up this helpful bit of information... The KNE
PC2T ethernet card uses the pcnet_cs driver. There is lots of information on
this at: http://pcmcia-cs.sourceforge.net/

Once you get the ethernet card working, your cable modem should work.
