Somehow I have contrived to create a .gif file which when automatically previewed in Konqueror diplays the *wrong* preview image. Simply I dragged a file, overwriting the original with a new one yet it PERSISTS in display the old preview. The file *is* the new one (really!), but I simply cannot refresh the preview. Now, ANY file of THAT name copied into THAT directory now displays the same old/wrong preview. If e.g. I rename the file, it's parent directory etc., it gives the correct (new) preview. Even if I change the icon size in Kong, it display the right preview, but reverts as soon as I reset to the default size. Aaaaargh! Mostly venting, but anyone experienced such a thing... or even cured it? I think I'm gonna *have* to rename e.g. the parent directory, since I happen to need a file called that in this instance...
The quick and dirty way of "solving" this is to look in ~/.kde/share/thumbnails. Somewhere in there is a thumbnail image with the same name as your file. simply delete it and it should be recreated next time you view the directory in konqueror. Of course, I can't think why a simple "reload" doesn't work. //Anders -- 'Deserves [death]. I daresay he does. Many that live deserve death. And some that die deserve life. Can you give it to them?
