Konstantin, Thanks, it works. For debugging purposes, it is usually useful to get ALL lines numbered (default: empty lines are not numbered). Therefore an aditional option can be added. So the command becomes: nl -b a filename |lpr The printout is plainly black&white. T4 another question: Can the highlight mode (C++, Pascal etc) in colour be activated, when printing?
