It is some temporary file, can't remember, but found it on either google or
suse support database. Once fixed, fire up online update again, do manual,
and get the yast2 updates. That fixed my problems.

Well, this didn't take long.
The story so far: installed SuSE 8.0 on my new office machine (some
sort of IBM box). Everything went well.
Decided to do an upgrade in case of security fixes etc. So fired up
Yast2, and went for the "software upgrade" option.
It pulled off the replacement packages from Suse's site in .de and
then the problems began.
Firstly it started complaining that I didn't have GPG installed and
therefore it couldn't verify the new packges.
Clicking on "cancel" only proceeded to the next package and gave me
the same error (and the next, and the next).
My think was that I should get out of this, install GPG and try
again.
However, the only way I could persuade the software update incarnation
of Yast2 to go away was with XKill....
So, back to the software installation option and I discover that GPG
(or, rather gpg) is installed. Hmmm. Install some other useful
packages. OK.
Now, try to do the upgrade again: fetches the packages from the SuSe
site and then crashes with no explanation.
I'm guessing that the previous attempt left some temporaray file lying
around.
So, can anyone suggest where to go next?
