Having a PCMCIA cardreader from PC Card on my desktop. This front access unit with a type I and one II type slot is connected with a double flat ribbon cable to a interface adapter. The adaptercard is recognized during boot up but I have not been able to use the card reader under Linux (apart from long ago with Red hat 5.2) (from dmesg) isapnp: Scanning for PnP cards... isapnp: Card 'VIA PCMCIA CARD' isapnp: 1 Plug & Play card detected total For the time being I have to go to Dos in order to use the cardreader. Could somebody assist me with getting the cardreader in use under SuSe 8.0? Found out that there are two ways to have Pcmcia readers used under SuSe 8.0 One is build in the kernel, the other an additional program. How do I find out what to use because I have the feeling the instructions are mainly for laptops. -- NTReader v0.36w(P)/Beta (Registered) in conjunction with Net-Tamer.
