I observed that the SuSE installer for 8.0 provides a choice of several video modes, with a default of 1024x768, and that once it starts up the console messages appear in a nice font with a green SuSE-ish surrounding border. I'd like to duplicate that in my running system (which is an upgrade). How can I do that? I've already gotten the same startup screen by putting the right stuff into /etc/lilo.conf, but once the kernel has started up I get the same old drab VGA font. I know that lilo does accept some very limited font specifications, but I see no way to tell lilo to go into whatever mode the installer uses. I asked about this a while ago but got no responses, so I'm trying again. Paul
