Is there an rpm of acroread v5.05 built for SuSE 7.3? And, if so, where can it be found.
Not an rpm, but nonetheless easy to install, and it works perfectly on 7.1: ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/unix/5.x/linux-505.tar.gz In previous versions, the buttons never worked, presumably because it was made for RH, and there was no SuSE specific version available. This time, however, the buttons do work, and not only can you select and copy text using the T button, it's also possible to select and copy graphics using the graphics button. A great improvement, so I would advise anyone to upgrade to 5.05! The short install instructions are: put the tar.gz file in a temporary directory, cd to it, run tar xfz linux-505.tar.gz then run the INSTALL script as root. It will install in /usr/local/bin by default. Acrobat Reader 4 and 5 do not bite each other, so 4 can be removed afterwards. SH
