How do I recreate /dev files ?
As a general rule, you first look at the file /usr/src/linux/Documentation/devices.txt Searching for psaux shows that it's a character device, with major number 10 and minor number 1. If you look at the file I'm sure you'll see how it's organized. With this information, you then use mknod mknod /dev/psaux c 10 1 Similarly for fd0, devices.txt shows that it's a block device with major number 2, minor number 0, so it's mknod /dev/fd0 b 2 0 After this you may need to set file permissions on the newly created "node" with chmod. regards Anders
