Some of us SuSE workers are still here, we just don't work for SuSE any
more ;-)

This was my feeling at the time, but I've found the ncurses version to
be superb.
Admittedly, I do a lot of things by manually editing the sysconfig
files, which reduces the amount I use YaST, but that was the case with
YaST1 too...

While that's true, I installed 8.0 on a P166 with 32M of RAM (yes,
forget the 48M "minimum" for ncurses install - it's a fallacy, just
tomsrtbt your machine first and create a decent (say, 64M) sized swap
partition and then go for it). That machines runs pretty nicely as a
nice simple text console machine for when I want to quickly check my
mail, and is shortly going to become a CCTV machine, and may also double
up as my gateway/firewall at home.
