After about 30 seconds inactivity the modem timed out and hung up. It looks like ppp wasn't started at the remote end. You're using wvdial, right? What does the wvdial log look like? Have you ever been able to log on using linux? How did you set it up in XP? It could be you need some sort of script to connect that your XP install routine set up for you, the wvdial log should reveal that. //Anders
