1. It tells wvdial to start pppd, wvdial doesn't send pap secrets, pppd does. 2. There is no wvdial.conf if you're using kinternet in 8.0. It is generated dynamically from the contents of you provider file in /etc/sysconfig/network/providers/ In that file you should have STUPIDMODE=yes if you want wvdial to get StupidMode=1 //Anders
