I've not got much experience with the Linux lvm yet, but based on the aix and hpux lvms (which is what the Linux one is based on), you will probably need to run first: /sbin/vgscan which should say "Hey, there's a vg on /dev/hdc" and /sbin/vgimport vgname /dev/hdc because you didn't export the vg first, you'll probably need to force the import, which is vgimport -f vgname /dev/hdc if vgscan shows nothing, then i dont know. I have test machine in the lab that I want to experiment with the latest Mantel kernel on.

Before upgrading the kernel, I had a second disk drive that was setup as a LVM volume.
It is no longer being recognized as an LVM volume. The machine boots and runs fine, I just can't access the data I had on that drive.
Could someone point me to the appropriate readme / howto that tells me how I should have done this upgrade to maintain access to the LVM volume.
To be honest, there is not any data of value out on the LVM volume, so I guess I could just recreate it now, but I would like to better understand the upgrade process.
