I've never had trouble resolving anything under suse.com. I use a local
djbdns cache on my laptop, and it's never given me any trouble. I used
to use BIND, which was a bit troublesome at times. My colleague here
uses DNS on windows, and he's always complaining.
I'd recommend you to point your box at a more reliable DNS cache, or
install a local DNS cache like djbdns. You'll never have to worry about
DNS after that.
