What am I missing. Perhaps I am no expert but from what I have learned so far, Yast2 will do everything I can think of.
from a variety of sites, eg SuSE supplementary or people. As far as I can see there's no way to do that with YaST2. Its a bit of a pain having
What about online update? What I would like to see is some improvement to online update. SuSE needs to add options such as you mention where the user could chose the location. Even more important, online update needs an option for working through a proxy server. I can't use online update at work because we have to use a proxy server.
to down load individual files and install them manually.
I guess I will have to do that because of the proxy problem. I also noticed at home when I did the online update, KDE was not one of the packages selected for update. When I double clicked on it to select, it selected with the G code which says something about it not being relevant for my system. After the online update procedure I checked the KDE version and it still says 3.0.0. at least the funny screen stripe problem went away so I am happy about that. Damon Register
