SuSE 8.0 should see the logical CPUs provided the BIOS supports hyper-threading and lists them in the ACPI table. The MP table should only list the first logical CPU for each processor. (hyperthreading, etc) Newbie question ... I recently updated a friends machine from duel P4 Xeon 1.7's to duel P4 Xeon 2.4 (Prestonia, with hyperthreading and 512KB cache). Does he need to make changes of any nature to his Suse 8.0 pro install or will the bios automatically pick up the new cpus and enable hyperthreading?
