KWrite crash trying to print w/CUPS

I noticed this problem a month ago or so, but only now am getting around to dealing with it. I have SuSE 8.0, KDE 3.01, and CUPS configured for two printers (one local parallel, one remote JetDirect). I can print using mozilla, enscript, KEdit, open office, and most apps without problems, however, when I choose File / Print from KWrite on a text document, KWrite hangs with the clock cursor and I have to kill it.
