configuring Orinoco wireless pcmcia card

Hello,

Using a very helpful suggestion from this list
(thanks, Keith!), I have configuring a wireless
network at home with a base pc using a linksys combo
AP/router. I've got the base pc working and connected
to the internet through my cable modem.

I'm now trying to configure an Orinoco Silver wireless
pcmcia card for my laptop and am having a few issues.
I downloaded the linux drivers from the orinoco site
and built them per the README, but am having trouble
getting the module loaded and therefore getting the
card recognized and working.

Can anyone provide any pointers on configuring this
card?

Also, on a "networking" issue, this is the first time
I'm trying to set up a network in linux. Once I get
the pcmcia card working, how do I set up a network
between the base pc and the laptop to share files back
and forth? I can't figure out how to access the
"network" and the drives/files on both computers. (a
la "Network Neighborhood" in windows with shared
drives). Do I mount the drives of the other computer
in the respective filesystems on both computers?

Many thanks,
Charles
