Yes.....some success. BACK UP ALL of your created data to a CD, if possible, then try an upgrade. If it blows up, you can do a fresh install without the worry of loosing your data.

I always backup my home directory to my server. But that means that, after a new install, a lot of things have to reinstalled, and usually about 4 days go by before I'm at least operational.
