The last BLU meeting was "Moving from MS Windows to GNU/Linux" where Joe Burgio presented the steps he is performing to convert his company to Linux. His approach is to move entirely to native to Linux. But, I think with Wine (et. al) moving to a Linux platrform would be a bit less painful. We have not yet put Joe's presentation up on our website, but if you are interested I have permission to share the presentation. Let me know and I'll email it to you. Sometimes looking for information 'is' work. I finally could convince my bosses to take a look at Linux (I use SuSE 7.1 at home). If I want to convince them of the fact that it is cost effective to make a complete transition to Linux (converting more than 20000 machines and +/- 300 applications/tools is a huge investment in terms of time, knowledge and money), I have to know exactly what we can expect and how we can avoid/circumnavigate certain problems. This list is one of my sources of information. I suppose I am not the only one on this list in this situation.
