Hi Damon, Yeah ... I got that too and was told (by SuSE support) on the telephone that they knew of the problem, that it was something they did not understand and it affected a number of drives that tried to access the SuSE 8.0 DVD including mine ... so I brought a new one (DVD drive) which was OK. A few days later SuSE support contacted me again (by e-mail) and told me there was a solution: http://sdb.suse.de/en/sdb/html/wessels_pioneerdvd.html Effectively it involves a DVD drive BIOS upgrade (I think) so you SHOULD be OK and not have to buy a new DVD like I did ... BTW I am not really annoyed at SuSE (probably more at me) as I think I was told the truth as understood by those support staff at the time and, besides, my 7 year old daughter has just been given a PII450 computer and within 2 days told me she wanted a DVD drive on it (yesterday, after playing some games on my computer, she told me she wanted Linux as well as Windows ... ah well!).
