There's three downloads (that appear to be applicable there ... I've downloaded all three (servr, common & i386boot), do I need more?
Those you install on your image server. That will store the images. If you scroll down on the downloads page you'll find the client rpms, which you install on the golden-client (system you want to copy from). Unfortunately, I know very little of the 2.x series. I probably should upgrade at some point.
So you just install it on Linux and run it? Or do you use a boot disk? Is it limited to waht it can copy? (EXT2/3, ReiserFS, FAT, NTFS)?
Once the server is set up, you can run 'prepareclient' on any system you want to copy from, then 'getimage' on the server. It will create a new directory for each golden client (named so because the software was originally written for maintaining clusters). I highly recommend the documentation. It's all explained step-by-step. The mailing list is also very good. As for the filesystems, I know it does ext2/3 and reiserfs on all kinds of hardware (including RAID). As for the Microsoft stuff, I honestly don't know, as I don't use Windows, sorry. - -- James Oakley Engineering - SolutionInc Ltd. joakley@solutioninc.com http://www.solutioninc.com -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.0.6 (GNU/Linux) Comment: For info see http://www.gnupg.org iD8DBQE893O8+FOexA3koIgRAtK0AKCuc3TD2HUtOyWNkVrzicu7OWHRTwCfdh/c ADIIQwZQEF1ZpWBDxJYTJoU= =wwiJ -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
