I experienced a pleasent surprise yesterday when the 8.0 installation recognised my Audigy soundcard (I was finaly disabled my on-board soundcard which I used to get a sound from my linux box).
Does anybody know if there is a way how to use the Audigy Drive (I have the Audigy Platinum with the external drive)? I would pretty much like to use the optical output on the drive, it is very comfortable way to record my MDs...
Just a suggestion, as I don't have an Audigy card/breakout. What I do have, however, is a Live card/breakout. And I was pleasantly surprised to note that I can now use the Livedrive I/O... Well the analog i/o anyway... Try using gamix. It worked for me 'out of the box'... When it first opened there was something like 3 gazillion different faders/buttons and what have we, making it (I kid you not!) something like 2½ meters wide... Most of the stuff is non functional, but after experimenting with various combinations of this input open/that one closed, I now have (again, only analog) i/o from the Livedrive. I wouldn't be surprised if the new drivers actually make digital i/o available too... hth Jon Clausen
