Hi all, As the mighty Ben Rosenberg predicted, my (hardware specific?) problems with memory leaks and cpu hogging by kde 3.0 are solved by kde 3.0.1. Just in case anyone else *was* having severe problems with kde 3.0 generating runaway processes (and it seems from the list nobody much was), then try 3.0.1 as a cure. I downloaded the rpms from the supplement for kde directory and updated them with rpm -Fvh in the order qt, arts kdelib, kdebase. Looks great. But yast2 won't start in graphical mode - it asks for the root password, and ps shows yast2 processes running, but nothing actually appears. A brazilian reader asked this or something similar the other day, but I've seen no reply to his messages - anyone got a clue? Perhaps now's a good time to repeat what I said when I first installed 8.0, it's excellent. Much kudos to the whole SuSE team. Best Fergus
