Sony looks like a nice camera. The only problem is that it only supports Sony ram sticks, not any standard RAM. For that reason, I would not buy it. I'm waiting until the $2400 Canon SLR comes down to earth at ~ $900. and I'll go for it. (!!!) --doug On Friday 24 May 2002 13:18, Charles Griffin wrote:

Hi!
I have a question about digital cameras. Where can I find a list of supported cameras? And, is there someone using a sony digital camera with linux?? How it's going? I plan to buy a Sony Digital Camera but I really don't know if the product will work, so please if someone got a model working, tell me which one? I have a list of interesting models... DSCP50, DSCP51, DSCP71
Thanks Martin
Martin,
You may want to take a look at the list of cameras that gphoto2 supports: http://www.gphoto.org/cameras.html.
Gphoto2 is included with SuSE and it works great. You can use gtkam as a nice gui interface. it also installs a plugin in the Gimp which also works great to download pictures directly into the Gimp.
Best, Charles
