Over the past couple of days I have been messing around with cron
to see
if it will auto start the modem and kmail. The modem starts up
fine,
dials in and logs on with no problem. But, for some strange
reason
kmail refuses to start up. I have checked the logs in
/var/spool/mail/****** and here are some of the responces :-
Subject: Cron <********> /opt/kde2/bin/kmail
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
Aborting. $DISPLAY is not set.
ERROR: KUniqueApplication: Pipe closed unexpected.
I closed kde then restarted the x with startx kde -- -bpp 16 0:0
I got the same message.
Subject: Cron <********> kmail --check
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
X-Cron-Env:
/bin/sh: kmail: command not found
Now when I start kmail from the consol it starts up as it should.
But
from cron, nothing. Any idea's.
