-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I did the chmod command you suggested and here's what happens now, which as I recall, is the same thing that happened before. suse:/home/brian # /opt/kde2/bin/kwintv Warning: main: Can't load program-file /root/.kwintvrc/default.ch! sh: kv4lsetup: command not found Warning: kwintv: kv4lsetup had some trouble, trying to continue anyway. Fatal: v4lx: Error opening v4lx device /dev/video: No such device in ::v4lxif I get the exact same error if I try to run it as a regular user, except it can't find /home/[user]/.kwintvrc/default.ch . Also, I was under the impression from reading the kwintv site and reading some things on the kwintv mailing list that the version of kwintv provided with SuSE 8 simply DOES NOT WORK with KDE 3 at all and that only the version available through CVS would work with KDE 3. Are you saying you got kwintv working under SuSE 8 and KDE 3? Darren Harmon wrote: | Hi; | I had the problem of Kwintv not working. The solution, run this command as | root chmod 4755 /opt/kde2/bin/kv4lsetup | | There was an error in the ownership properties of a file. This command should | fix it (works for me). Unfortunately you need to run this after every reboot. | | | On Tuesday 21 May 2002 20:53, Brian W.
