Can I somehow skip this test or should I repartition the drive first? If the latter can anyone suggest a utility to re-size the windows partition, I don't want to install "Partition Magic". ----------------->>>> Not sure why it hung, but I would repartition it first to reduce the size of the fat partition. I have used the fips program to do the partition resizing. Read and follow all the pertinent info on the process. Then once you have your partition and your windows has been scandisked and able to boot, then try your install again.
