SuSE 8.0, however, the BIOS does NOT support booting from CD, is there a way I can make a install floppy for SuSE 8.0 so that it boots, and can switch to CD to complete the install?
Yes, on CD 1 and on the DVD there's a directory "disks". Create the bootdisk with dd if=/cdrom/disks/bootdisk of=/dev/fd0 Then create the modules disks, to get the drivers you need to boot the system. If you don't have any scsi devices or other weird things you probably won't need them, but just in case... If you're on a dos/win-system when you do this, use the utility rawrite.exe to create the disks. It's in the "dosutils" directory. regards Anders -- I swear I do declare - how did you get that there?
