Sorry, maybe I wasn't clear enough on this issue. The LinkSys router is connected to eth0, where DHCP is running and all of my Internet stuff for the family LAN/WAN is running. This functions without a hitch. eth1, that the PB 1400 is connected to is a personal LAN only, that just allows the SuSE box and my PB 1400 to communicate. I am only using this setup to transfer all of my important files from the PB to SuSE. This is part of my migration process away from the Mac OS and am hoping that at some point, I will also be able to get rid of the Win 2k partition on my dual boot box, so everything is pure SuSE. Setting up netatalk beats the hell out of having to transfer everything by Zip disc... that is if it works ;-) This personal LAN uses an ethernet hub with no router involved. I am using Mac OS 9.1 on the PB.
Much more clear now ! ;- ) You are using static ip in the eth1 ? tehm usae another static ip in the same range in the pb, the rest is the same in previus msg ! Just in case, you are configured a user to use with PB ? when you enter the "server ip address" you'll need it ! Fábio Rabelo
